Toyota of Downtown LA has the amazing 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser for sale. This iconic SUV will pamper you while cruising the streets of LA. Take a test drive today!
Casual car fans and shoppers may be surprised to learn there's a Toyota that easily matches the reputation and price tag of top models from luxury brands. That Toyota is the Land Cruiser. The full-size SUV is legendary around the world thanks to its off-road capability. That is equally matched with luxury bits from a leather-lined interior to the latest in advance automotive electronics. As Leftlane News writes, Land Cruiser owners are part of an elite club among true car enthusiasts.
The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser seats up to eight and is available in a single, fully-loaded model. Updates for the model year are numerous. There's a new front bumper and grille. The hood has a distinctive bulge hinting at the powerful engine underneath (see below). There are new chrome body side moldings and a new rear bumper. Special logos and badging can be found throughout the sheetmetal.
Inside, changes are more subdued. The center console has “a more cohesive appearance and more intuitive controls” according to the automaker. There are also more controls on the steering wheel to manipulate such systems like the dynamic radar cruise control, multi-information display, and Toyota's new Safety Sense-P system. This last bit encompasses such advance safety features as front-collision avoidance and mitigation systems, auto high beams, and lane departure warning.
Other upgrades include a wireless charging pad for smartphones, easier access to the iphone's Siri virtual assistant and a more efficient eight-speed automatic transmission.
Underneath the "power bulge" hood is a 5.7-liter DOHC V-8. Rated at 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, a properly equipped Land Cruiser can tow up to 8,500 pounds. Fuel economy is surprisingly good at 13 miles per gallon in city driving, 18 mpg when cruising along the highway and 15 mpg combined. Note these figures are based on 2016 EPA mileage estimates. Actual mileage will vary, especially on how owners drive and maintain their Land Cruiser. The numbers were provided for comparison purposes only and shouldn't be used with models before 2008.
Unsurprisingly, the Land Cruiser is extremely well-featured for its role as a luxury SUV. Heated and vented (i.e., "cooled") front seats, a power moonroof, sliding and reclining second-row seats, and Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity are just a few creature comforts that come standard. Same with four-zone automatic climate control, an integrated navigation system, and a JBL Synthesis Premium Audio with 14 speakers. And for its role as an off-roader, the Land Cruiser comes with such systems as downhill assist, hill-start assist and off-road turn assist just to name a few. As Edmunds points out: "Off the pavement the Land Cruiser is hard to beat, with its ample ground clearance and long-travel suspension that's capable of conquering everything from muddy trails to skull-sized rocks. Best of all, the collection of off-road driving aids -- like Crawl Control that lets the driver focus on steering while the computers handle everything else -- make it easy for even inexperienced off-roaders to feel like they're king of the hill."
