Toyota has a long history of technological innovation and reliability. Toyota has a rich history of producing high-quality cars for many generations. But what’s the story behind the signature Toyota logo? What has the Toyota logo evolution looked like? Find out here with this guide to the Toyota car logo from the staff at Toyota of Downtown LA, your local authorized Toyota dealership in Los Angeles. We pride ourselves on serving drivers from Mission Hills to Cerritos with an impressive lineup of new Toyota models.
The Toyota logo as we know it today was first seen in 1989. This logo was introduced to commemorate the 50th year anniversary of the company. This distinctive shape of the logo includes three significant ovals. The two perpendicular ovals inside the larger oval represent the heart of the customer and the heart of the company. They are overlapped in order to represent a mutually beneficial relationship and trust. On the inside of the outer logo, you’ll find two perpendicular ovals overlapping, symbolizing “T” for Toyota. The outer oval was designed to symbolize the world embracing Toyota, as they have done so well.
You’ll notice each oval in the Toyota logo is contoured with different stroke thicknesses. This is similar to the “brush” art known in Japanese culture. There is plenty of space in the background, symbolizing the “infinite values” upon which the Toyota brand was built. These are inclusive of top quality, incredible value, innovation, and integrity.
In the manufacturer’s long history, Toyota has revealed several logo designs. The Toyota logo evolution is an interesting story. Toyota’s first passenger car, the Model AA, featured a hood ornament with wings to convey speed. This logo included the word Toyoda (the original name of the company) on a red and blue background.
