How Much Can a 2019 Toyota RAV4 Tow?

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 towing capacity is 1,500 pounds, which allows you to tow a small trailer or boat around the Mission Hills area. The advanced Adventure trim allows for up to 3,500 pounds of towing power. This SUV also has a payload capacity of up to 1,240 pounds. The 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has a towing capacity of 1,750 pounds with the XLE Hybrid, LE Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid, and you can expect similar towing capacities in the upcoming 2019 Hybrid model.

Toyota RAV4 Engine and Performance Features

In order to tow the 1,500 pounds, the new Toyota RAV4 needs an engine that delivers on strength and power. This Toyota SUV runs on a 2.5L dynamic force four-cylinder engine with DOHC 16-valve with d-4s dual injection and dual variable timing with intelligence (vvt-i) that delivers 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.

Toyota RAV4 Performance Features

The new RAV4 has standard front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available. Higher trim levels have dynamic torque vectoring all-wheel drive (TV-AWD) with rear driveline disconnect. All trim levels offer Sport, ECO, and Normal drive modes, so you can choose which is best for the roads around West Hollywood. Additional performance features include:

  • 8.4 to 8.5 inches of ground clearance
  • Active Cornering Assist
  • Direct Shift eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission
  • Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar
  • Mud and Sand, Rock and Dirt, and Snow modes on higher trims
  • Power-assisted ventilated 12.0-inch front disc brakes
  • Trailing wishbone-style multi-link rear suspension
  • Ventilated 11.1-inch rear disc brakes with Star Safety System™

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Engine and Performance

The 2019 RAV4 hybrid runs on a 2.5L Dynamic Force four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve with VVT-i engine that delivers 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a Direct Shift eight-speed Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT). The new RAV4 Hybrid boasts a combined 219 net system hp, with an EPA estimated 41 mpg / 38 mpg (city/highway)*.
